The Shahkot police have booked a Jalandhar resident on charges of cheating and breach of trust.
The investigating officer (IO) and Malsian police post in -charge Nirmal Singh said that the accused had been identified as Harish Kumar’s son of Kishor Kumar a resident of mohalla Makhdoom Pura Jalandhar.
Avtar Singh a resident of Nawan Killa village complained to Jalandhar (rural) senior superintendent of police that the accused made illegal construction on his plot of land and tried to sell it and when he stopped the accused from doing so, he was threatened with dire consequences.
IO said a case under sections 420(cheating) and 406(breach of trust) has been registered against the accused after an inquiry and further investigation is on.
