The Shahkot police have booked four members of in-laws’ family on the charge of assaulting a woman.
The Investigating officer (IO) Balkar Singh said that the accused have been identified as Jatinder Singh son of Baldev Singh a resident of Dhandowal village. his mother Surindar Kaur, his brother Preettu and his sister Davindar .
Rekha wife of Jatinder Kumar a resident of the same village complained to the police that her husband, mother-in-law, brother-in-law, and sister-in-law assaulted and seriously injured her.
IO said a case under sections 323 and 325 (voluntarily causing grievous hurt) and 34(committing crime with common intention) of the Indian Penal Code has been registered against the accused. No arrests have been made and raids are being conducted to nab the absconding accused.
