The Nakodar Sadar police have booked two people, including a woman, on charges of stealing cash and jewellery from her own house.
Investigating officer (IO) Rajindar Kumar said that the accused has been identified as Ramandeep Kaur daughter of Gurmit Kumar a resident of Uggi village and Amrit Pal son of Kewal Mattu a resident of the same village.
Kulwindar Kaur, the wife of Gurmit Kamar, a resident of Uggi village, complained to the police that she had fixed her daughter Ramandeep Kaur’s marriage with Manpreet of Kaliyann Pur village in Jalandhar on November 23.
She said her daughter went to Nakodar on 8 morning of November 8 to contract a beautician, but her phone was not open till 3 PM.
Kulwindar said when she checked her almirah she found Rs 1.2 lakh and jewellery missing adding that she is sure that her daughter Raman Deep and Amrit Pal jointly stole cash and jewellery.
IO said that a case under section 305(theft in dwelling house) and 3(5) (committing a crime with the common intention of the IPC has been registered against the accused.
