JALANDHAR
The CIA Staff of Jalandhar Rural Police has arrested two drug smugglers and recovered 100 grams of heroin from their possession, said Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Harkamalpreet Singh Khakh, here today.
The arrested accused have been identified as Karan Kumar alias Karan (22), son of Kulwinder, resident of Ward No. 09, Mohalla Chadi Patti Begowal, Kapurthala, and Hansdeep Singh alias Nikka (21), son of Ranjit Singh, resident of Mohalla Arfanwala,under Kapurthala city police station.
SSP said the police recovered 100 grams of heroin concealed in a wax-wrapped packet on the car's dashboard.
SSP Khakh said that both accused have previous criminal records and were out on bail at the time of arrest. The accused have been remanded to two days police custody.
A case under sections 21-B/61/-85 of the NDPS Act has been registered against the accused at Kartarpur police station .
