Deputy commissioner-cum-District Election officer Dr. Himanshu Aggarwal has exercised his right to the franchise through a postal ballot at the facilitation center in Lyallpur Khalsa College for women which was set up for the Kartarpur assembly segment.
Deputy Commissioner Dr Aggarwal who is a registered voter in Ferozepur district, also showed great satisfaction over the arrangements made at the facilitation centre for postal ballot voters.
Sharing his experience after using his democratic right, Dr. Aggarwal said that no eligible person should be left behind to cast his/ her vote in the biggest festival of democracy so that the target of 70 % polling in Lok Sabha polls to be met.
He asked the officials on poll duty to use the EDC service to cast their votes as the district administration has made adequate arrangements to facilitate the persons on duty to cast their votes.
Urging people to cast their votes in large numbers to strengthen democracy at the grassroots level as the administration has set up 1951 polling booths to facilitate nearly 16.42 lakh voters for Lok Sabha polls.
Besides that ADC Amit Mahajan also cast his vote through the postal ballot.
