Rajya Sabha MP Sant Baba Balbir Singh seechewal and Deputy commissioner Kapurthala .Vishesh sarangal today reviewed the smart city projects for holy city with an aim to facilitate people and devotees coming in large numbers to pay obeisance at religious places .
Today in a meeting at DAC along with officials from various departments, Member Parliament asked the officials to speed up the Sewerage treatment plant project which are under construction be completed as soon as possible to provide pollution free environment in the holy city.
They said that with the completion of smart city project , the holy city would be developed as “Model “ city across the country. He also asked the departments to made new proposals for the comprehensive development of the city.
Deputy commissioner Sarangal informed that the projects under smart city are going on full swing and officials have been asked to personally monitor the projects .
To wipe out the possibility of mixing of sewerage water with drinkable water , Punjab Government has chalked out a project worth Rs. 14.15 crore . Under that all old water supply pipes to be changed in the city.
He also said that under smart city 310 KW solar power capacity panels has already been installed in the city.
Talking about the safe city projects , Deputy commissioner said that 250 CCTVs would be installed and connected with Integrated Command control centre (ICCC) to control the crime which would not only facilitate policing but also the security of lakhs of devotees coming to the city .
These cameras would also include
(ANPR ) Automatic number plate reading cameras to keep an hawk eye on the traffic .
He also said that 4 lanning of roads to sultanpur Lodhi via Dadwindi and Mundi morh to sultanpur lodhi would be completed by December 2023.
Besides , this the establishment of smart parks in the city are going on full swing which includes in Mori mohalla and mohalla Central Park.
