NAKODAR

The Punjab Health Systems Corporation (PHSC) has completed the construction of a 30-bed mother-child hospital (MCH) at Nakodar after more than six years.

PHSC executive engineer Sukhchain Singh said that they have written to the medical authorities for inspection and other formalities for handing it over to them.

The then Nakodar MLA Gurpartap Singh Wadala laid the foundation stone of a 30-bed mother and child hospital on June 3, 2016.

The Punjab government had sanctioned Rs. Rs 6 crore in this connection.

Addressing a public meeting, Wadala had said that the building would be completed within a year. It will provide the best facilities for institutional deliveries and will take care of mother and child health.

Wadala had said that it is the government’s policy to encourage institutional deliveries to reduce the mortality death rate and child mortality rates.

It may be mentioned here that a thirty-bed mother-child hospital (MCH), under a central government scheme, has been constructed at Nakodar civil hospital with three independent operation theatres.
