The Mehat Pur police have arrested a local resident on the charge of gambling.
The investigating officer Jaswindar Singh said that the accused has been identified as Sarabjit Singh a resident of Patti Jhugian ,Mehat Pur who was selling betting slips in town bazaars. Rs. 1260 and some betting slips were recovered from his possession. A case under sections 13 -A-3-67 of the Punjab Gambling Act has been registered against the accused who was released on bail.
