Residents of Pabwan village near here demanded that the liquor vend should be moved to some non-residential area.
In a signed representation to Nakodar MLA I.K.Mann residents said that women and children feel unsafe in the area due to the presence of drunken miscreants, demanding that the vend be shifted to some other spot.
They said that drunken miscreants are a nuisance for devotees of Baba Butte Shahj Ji who daily pass through this area to pay their obeisance at a religious place.
Residents said that drunken miscreants often use a nearby public park for drinking purposes making it difficult for walkers.
Residents have sent copies of their representation to the Excise Department and police station.
They said that in the evening liquor vend is turned into a pub and drunken miscreants drink sitting in front of vend and vendor supply them with water and glasses and eatables.
