The Shahkot police have booked unidentified criminals on the charge of an unsuccessful attempt to loot money from a cooperative bank branch at Rupowal village.
Bank manager Kunnal a resident of Jalandhar complained to the police that the accused broke the grill of a window and barged into the bank premises on March 31 night and attempted to open the lock of the strong room and smashed the CCTV cameras.
The investigating officer and Malsian police post-in-charge Sanjivan Singh said that a case under sections 457(house-trespass in the night), 380(theft in dwelling house) 511(offenses punishable with imprisonment for life or another imprisonment), and 427(mischief) of the Indian Penal Code has been registered against unidentified accused.
