The Shahkot police have booked a tractor driver on the charge of causing death by negligence.
The Investigating Officer (IO) Sulindar Singh said that the accused has been identified as Chamak son of Balkar Singh a resident of Thamu Wal village.
Kuljit Singh a resident of Nangal Ambian village e complained to the police that the accused was driving his tractor trolly loaded with sand negligently on March 30 night near Dhandowal village and hit a motorcycle (PB-08-OX-9162) without blowing the horn and killed his co-villagers Baljit Singh, Prabhdeep and Vinay Kumar and damaged their motorcycle.
IO said that a case under section 304-A (causing death by negligence), 279(rash driving on a public road), and 427(mischief) of the IPC has been registered against Chamak.
