The Nakodar Sadar police have arrested a thief on the charge of stealing cash from a village gurdwara.
The investigating officer(IO) Jasvir l Singh said that the accused has been identified as Sunil Kumar alias Suraj son of Harwindar Singh a resident of Bopa Rai Kalan village.
Sukhdev Singh a resident of the same village complained to the police that he is working as a caretaker in Gurdwara Baba Shaheedan Boparai Kalan village when the accused broke open the lock of a coin box on March 27 and stole cash
IO said that a case under sections 457(house-breaking by night in order to commit an offense punishable with imprisonment) and 380(theft in dwelling house) of the IPC has been registered against the accused and impounded his scooter(PB-08-CK-4083)
