The Lohian Khas police have arrested two Kapurthala district residents with an illegal firearm.
The investigating officer (IO) Mohann Singh said that the accused have been identified as Harjinder Singh alias Jindu son of Charan Singh a resident of Toga Wala village under Sadar Kapurthala police station and Gurwindar Singh alias Mintu son of Dalbir Singh a resident of Baba Namdev colony Kapurthala.
IO said that he was on duty at high-tech Naka at Giddarr Pindi checking vehicles when the accused rode a motorcycle coming from Makhu side and reversed their two-wheelers seeing special checking but fell after the motorcycle slipped and were arrested and a country-made 32-bore pistol special, 6 live cartridges of 7.65 mm and one sharp-edged weapon were recovered from their possession.
IO said that a case under sections 25/54/59 of the Arms Act has been registered against the accused and impounded the motorcycle (PB-09-AX -4882) was impounded.
