The Mehat Pur police have arrested a Patiala resident woman on the charge of harboring and providing shelter to “Waris Punjab De” chief Amritpal Singh in her house.
The Station House officer (SHO) Balraj Singh said that the accused has been identified as Balvir Kaur daughter of Balwant Singh a resident of 17-b, BaBa Shiri Chand market ,Sarhand Road, Patiala
SHO said that Amritpal and his associate Papal Preet Singh stayed in her house in Patiala on March 19. who was in touch with Papalpreet Singh.
SHO said that the accused provided her scooter to Amritpal and Palam Preet to reach Shahbad in Kurukshetra and her mobile handset to Amritpal adding that Baljit Kaur who is in custody of Mehat Pur police has come to Patiala to return scooter of Balbir Kaur.
SHO said accused Balvir Kaur has been arrested in a case registered against Amrit Pal Singh under sections 279(rash driving on the public road and 188(disobedience to order duly promulgated by public servant) of the Indian Penal Code and sections 25/54/59 of the Arms Act.
