Haryana woman arrested for giving shelter to Amrit Pal

The Mehat Pur police have arrested a Haryana-living woman on the charge of harbouring and providing shelter to Waris Punjab De’ chief Amritpal Singh in her house.

The Station House officer (SHO) Balraj Singh said that the accused has been identified as Baljit Kaur daughter of Gurnam Singh a resident of Mamu Majra village post office Nangala, Shahbad town in Kurukshetra Haryana state and presently living in Sidharath colony, Shahbad.

 SHO said that Amritpal and his associate Papal Preet Singh had stayed in her house in Shahabad town on the intervening night of March 19 and 20. who was in touch with Papalpreet Singh adding that the woman was taken into custody by the Haryana Police and handed over to the Punjab Police.

 

SHO said accused Baljit Kaur has been arrested in a case registered against Amrit Pal Singh under sections 279(rash driving on the public road and 188(disobedience to order duly promulgated by public servant) of the Indian Penal Code and sections 25/54/59 of the Arms Act and sub-inspector Bhupinder Singh is conducting further investigations.
