Amritpal Singh booked for disobeying official order, rash driving

 

NAKODAR

The Mehat Pur police have booked Waris Punjab De chief Amrit Pal Singh on the charges of disobeying official order, rash driving, and under sections of the Arms Act.

The Station House Officer (SHO) Balraj Singh said that the police have received secret information that Waris Punjab De chief Amrit Pal Singh is roaming in the area with a convoy of vehicles and was himself traveling in a pickup van (Pb-10FW-6797) on March 18.

SHO said that Amrit Pal was holding a 315-bore rifle in his hand and was brandishing it and was creating fear among people and was driving his vehicle very fast and negligibly creating chances of human and material losses.  

SHO said that he parked his vehicle near the Government school in Salema village and fled away.

The police reached the spot and found the vehicle locked and saw some arms and sharp-edged weapons and communication gadgets.

SHO said a 315-bore rifle, two belts of cartridges (57 numbers ), one sword, and one walkie-talkie set were recovered from inside the vehicle.

 

SHO said a case under sections 279(rash driving on the public road and 188(disobedience to order duly promulgated by public servant) of the Indian Penal Code and sections 25/54/59 of the Arms Act has been registered against Amrit Pal Singh and sub-inspector Bhupinder Singh is conducting further investigations.
