The Nakodar city police have arrested a couple of drug peddlers on the charge of selling heroin and intoxicant tablets.
The Station house officer (SHO)Sulkhdev Singh said that 10 grams of heroin and 500 intoxicant tablets were recovered from the possession of the accused identified as Buti son of Jogindar Ram a resident of Mahun Wal village and his wife Rajni.
SHO said that a case under sections 21(b)/ 22(b) 61/85 of the NDPS Act has been registered against the accused and impounded a motorcycle on which the accused was traveling with contraband.
The Shahkot police arrested drug peddler Gurprit alias Gopi son of Sucha Ram a resident of Haji Pur village with 4 grams of heroin, said IO Nirmal Singh
The Lohian Khas police arrested drug peddler Jagjit Singh alias Niku son of Sewa Singh a resident of Toti village in Kapurthala with 10 grams of heroin and impounded his scooter on which he was traveling with contraband and a notorious peddler with eight cases pending against him and recently came out of jail serving sentence, said investigating officer Kulwindar Singh.
