The Mehat Pur police have booked five persons for voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapons, trespass, mischief, and rioting.
The Investigating officer (IO) Harwindar Singh said that the accused have been identified as Amarjit and Billa and Jass residents of Rai Pur Gujran village, Mandip a resident of Rai Pur Arayan village and Harjindar a resident of Bute Dian Chhana village.
Vikramjit Singh a resident of Hujra village in Ludhiana complained to the police that the accused waylaid him and his brother-in-law at Chohle village and attacked and seriously injured and threatened them and smashed his two-wheeler.
IO said that a case under sections 323,324(voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapons) 341(wrongful restraint) 427(mischief) 506(criminal intimidation and 148 and 149(rioting) of the IPC have been registered and raids are being conducted to arrest the absconding accused
