Deflation of tyres of doctors' vehicles in no parking zone leads to a protest, issue resolved- Dr Nirmal Ouseppdchan,Registrar of BFUHS

 

 

FARIDKOT: The parking of the vehicles by the doctors in no parking zone declared by The registrar of BFUHS Faridkot led to a protest today when the doctors alleged that their vehicles were punctured or deflated by the men of the parking contractors.

No parking zone was declared outside and nearby areas of medical emergency of GGS medical hospital.

It led to a protest by the doctors working in emergency medical services of the Guru Gobind Singh Medical college and Hospital(GGSMCH) today when the tyres of the vehicle of Dr Ashish Chabra, were allegedly punctured by the men of the contractors of the parking area of the medical college.

After this incident, the doctors performing duty in the medical emergency of the GGSMCH protested and found it unsafe to park their vehicles away from the entrance of the emergency medical services.

“I had come to examine a patient in the emergency but when I came back, someone had deflated the tyres of my vehicle. Someone was deflating the other vehicles also. When I asked why  my car was deflated, he said that it was a no parking zone and if anyone parked his vehicle here, its tires would be deflated,” alleged Dr Ashish Chabra speaking to the reporters.

“When I drove out my deflated vehicle, the mechanic told me that all the tyres of my car were punctured with a sharp pointed kneel, how could it be termed fair while we have to come to the emergency of the GGS medical college and hospital  many times,” asked Dr Ashish Chabra.

Sandeep Singh,the president of the junior residents doctors association told the reporters that about 4 days back, an order had been passed by the registrar of the BFUHS that all vehicles be parked in the parking zone, which is away from the emergency and in a dark place.

“It is unsafe for the ladies doctors to park their vehicles there and visit the emergency," he said.

“We are taking up the matter with the principal and medical superintendent of the hospital to get a solution to the problem,’ he said.

The protesters termed the contractors of the vehicles parking zones working a s mafia.

 , register of Baba Farid University of Health sciences Faridkot had ordered that vehicles parked on footpaths and no parking zones would be deflated.

When contacted, Dr Nirmal Ouseppachan, registrar of BFUHS Faridkot said that the demand of the doctors has been agreed with.

“We have specially made arrangements for the parking of about 300 cars in the hospital. As this is the new arrangement, some problems have surfaced. It is the best arrangement made  by us. However, the issue raised by the doctors has been sorted out today. I have agreed to their demand. Now there would be no problem,” said Dr Nirmal Ospcchan.
