The Shahkot police have booked a man on the charge of selling trees from Panchayat land.
The investigating officer (IO) Nirmal Singh said that the accused has been identified as Jaswant Singh son of Deepa a resident of Dane Wal village
The Sarpanch of Gram Panchayat Narang Pur Hansi village Rajwindar Kaur complained to the police that the accused stole trees from panchayat land and sold further.
IO said a case under section 379(theft) of the IPC has been registered against the accused.
