Kushaldeep Singh Dhillon, former Faridkot MLA and political advisor to the chief minister Punjab has termed the raids of the Vigilance Bureau as a propaganda to divert the attention  of the public from common issues.

Dhillon reacted to the raids of the Punjab Vigilance Bureau on his under construction farm house in New Chandigarh today.

As per the sources, the VB on Tuesday visited the under construction farm house of Kushaldeep Singh Dhillon, near Siswan farm in New Chandigarh to conduct a survey of the farm house.

The burau had also summoned Dhillon to its office in a case of alleged irregularities in filing income tax returns.

The VB had registered a case against Dhillon for the alleged misappropriation of assets to his known source of income besides Benami property.

Dhillon was summoned to the office of VB in Faridkot last month saying that his replies were not satisfactory.

But Dhillon had said that he would file all the replies in days to come as demanded by the VB office then.

“This is a false propaganda of the VB to hide the failures of the government. The law and order is crumbling in Punjab, the power corporation is nearly collapsing and the government is sinking into more and more debt while it claimed that it would make Punjab a surplus state. It borrowed more instead of repayment of loans. The present regime has failed on all counts and so it wants to divert the attention of the common man to save its skin,” said Kushaldeep Singh Dhillon, when contacted by Punjab Tribune.

Dhillon said that all his properties are declared in his affidavit filed in 2022 assembly polls and everything is online as he regularly files income tax returns.

He said that he has nothing to conceal or hide as all his business is transparent and all his assets are declared in IT returns.

“The state machinery is only hounding me to harass me,” he said.
