The Nakodar city police have arrested eight accused on the charge of assaulting a youth.
The investigating officer Rannjit Singh said that the accused have been identified as Harnoor Singh a resident of Aadarash Nagar, Nakodar, Harwindar Singh a resident of ChakVendal village, Amritpal Singh a resident of Bag Pur, Jaskaran Singh a resident of Sohal Khurd village, Amrindar Singh a resident of Tut Kalan village, Harman Sigh a resident of Sari village. Hardip Singh a resident of Baloki Khurd village and Sukh a resident of Shankar village
Karandeep Singh, a resident of Nawan Pind Shaunkian village has complained to the police that Harnoor has phoned him to reach a particular spot for talks where he and his accomplices assaulted and injured him on February 20.
IO said that a case under sections 323,324 (voluntarily causing hurt with dangerous weapons or means) and 341(wrongful restrain) and 148 and 149(rioting) of the IPC was registered against the accused and have been arrested under sections 109,107/150 and 107/151 of the Cr. P.C.
