The Nurmahal police have booked Gurwindar Singh living at 78, Addington, Crescent, L6T 2R3 Brampton, Ontario Canada in a dowry harassment case.
Dipika Ranni Chahal daughter of Mohann Lal Chahal a resident of Mohalla Gujjran, Nurmahal had filed a complaint to the senior superintendent of police, Jalandhar (rural), that her husband had been harassing her and demanding more and more dowry since her marriage and tortured her physically and mentally and threatened to kill her.
The Investigating Officer Amrik Singh said a case under section 406(breach of trust) and 498-A (husband or relative of a woman subjecting her to cruelty) of the Indian Penal Code has been registered against the accused after an inquiry.
