 Proclaimed offender travel agent arrested for cheating

 The Nakodar Sadar police have arrested a proclaimed offender travel agent on the charge of cheating after more than four years of registration of a case.

The Station House Officer (SHO) Palwindar Singh said that the accused has been identified as Swaran Singh son of Nathu Singh a native of f Bijnor district in UP who was living at Warra Salam village when the crime was committed.

SHO said the accused had duped Sadhu Singh a resident of Bal Kohna village of Rs 25.50 Lakh on the pretext of sending his family abroad

 

 

SHP said a case under Sections 406 (breach of trust) and 420 (cheating) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC)and section 13 of the Punjab Travel Profession Regulation Act was registered against the accused at Mehat Pur police station after an inquiry on August 17, 2018, who was declared a proclaimed offender in 2019 and further investigations were handed over to the Nakodar Sadar police.
