The Punjab government has nearly met its stamp duty collection targets in the district.
Nurmahal naib tehsildar Anudeep Sharma said a sum of more than Rs 5 crores was collected during the third quarter of the financial year in Nurmahal sub-tehsil against a target of Rs 5 crores.
The Punjab Revenue, Rehabilitation and Disaster Management Department (Stamps and Registration branch) had fixed a stamp duty collection target of Rs 342.8 crores for the district. Nurmahal is targeted to collect Rs 3 crore in the third quarter and Rs 5 crore during the financial year, but it collected more than Rs 5 crore during the third first quarter of the financial year.
