Four travel agents booked for duping Shahkot village resident of Rs 12.50 Lakhs

 

SHAHKOT

 The Shahkot police have booked four travel agents on the charge of allegedly duping a Shahkot village resident of Rs.12.50lakhs on the pretext of sending her son abroad.

Shahkot Deputy Superintendent of Police and investigating officer (IO) Gurpreet   Singh said that the accused have been identified as Jaswant SinghGun Avenue colony Dharam Kot, Moga, Vannet Tyagi son of Balesh Tyagi a resident of Hollamby Killa, West Dehli, Mukal Kalra a resident of Shyama Park, Shah Bad Ghazia  Bad, U P and Ajay Danial Anwar son of Aex Manual Anwar  a resident of Rajendra Nagar, Shah Bad, Ghazia Bad,  U P

 

Satnam Singh son of Dial Singh a resident of Bau Pur village complained to Jalandhar(rural) senior superintendent of police (SSP) that he paid Rs 12.50 lakhs to the accused for facilitating his son’s migration abroad, but the accused did not send him abroad nor returned the money.

 

IO said that a case under sections 406 (breach of trust), 420 (cheating), and 34(committing the crime with common intention) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and section 13 of the Punjab Travel Profession Regulation Act has been registered against the accused after an inquiry.
