The Jalandhar (rural) police registered 483 cases under NDPS Act and arrested 721 drug peddlers including 99 women in the 2022 year.
Jalandhar (rural) senior superintendent of police (SSP) Swarandeep Singh releasing data said in a report that 15 kilograms of opium, 2924 kilograms of poppy husk, 9 kilograms 705 grams of heroin,42500 intoxicant tablets /capsules.1189 intoxicant injections .152 grams ICE,19 intoxicant vials,850 grams charas,24 kilograms and 77 grams of green leaves and 700 grams of powder was recovered from drug peddlers.
SSP said that 14 cases were registered under the Arms Act and 25 criminals have been arrested .84 pistols,13 revolvers,5 rifles,2 guns,317 cartridges,34 magazines, and 317 knives were seized from the possession of the accused in the year 2022.
He said that the rural police busted 7 gangs of gangsters and arrested 46 gangsters during the year 2022.
