The Jalandhar (rural) police on Saturday destroyed drugs seized under NDPS Act by various police stations.
Senior superintendent of police (SSP) Swarandeep Singh in a press release said that the drugs seized in 173 cases were destroyed in a fire on the premises of P.K.Paper and Board Mill Mehat Pur
He said that destroyed drugs included 1126 kilograms of poppy husk,4 kilograms and 20 grams of intoxicant powder,4 kilograms and 343 grams of heroin,15 kilograms of charas, 4 kilograms 472 grams of ganja,2256 intoxicant injections,9937 intoxicant tablets,23446 intoxicant capsules, and 13 syringes, one needle and 382 intoxicant vials.
The press note said that the drug disposal committee of Jalandhar rural chairman and SSP Swaradeep Singh, SP(D) Sarabjit Singh, and Jawindar Singh DSP (D) were present on the occasion.
