The Mehat Pur police have a couple on the charge of stealing cash and jewelry from a house.
The investigating officer (IO) Sarwann Singh said that the accused have been identified as Arwindar Singh alias Gora son of Jarnail Singh a resident of Vijola village under Subhan Pur police station Kapurthala and his wife Manidar Kaur.
Hardev Singh a resident of Hari Pur Mehat Pur e complained to the police that the accused barged into his house in his absence on December 18 and stole Rs 22,000 cash and gold and silver jewelry.
IO said that a case under sections 454 (lurking house-trespass) and 380(theft in dwelling house) of the IPC has been registered against the accused.
