The Shahkot police have booked a travel agent on the charges of trafficking, cheating, and breach of trust.
The investigating officer (IO) Balvir Chand said that the accused has been identified as Chamkaur Singh son of Pritam Singh a resident of Chak Bahmanni Khurd village.
Chindar Singh a resident of Gurre village under Goraya police station complained to the police that the accused has sent his wife to Dubai for working and confined her there and demanded money for releasing her.
IO said a case under sections 370(trafficking of person)420(cheating) and 406(breach of trust) of the Indian Penal Code has been registered against the accused.
