The Lohian khas police have arrested the husband of a deceased woman on the charge of abetting suicide.
The investigating officer (IO) Iqbal Singh said that the accused has been identified as Gagandeep Singh son of Amarjit Singh a resident of Janta Nagar, Ludhiana,
Rekha Ranni a resident of ward no.7 Lohian Khas had complained to the police that her daughter Lovpreet Kaur's (25) marriage was solemnized with Gagandep Singh in 2021 but soon after her in-law’s family started harassing her for dowry and threw her out of the house.
She had said in her complaint that Gagandeep Singh asked Lovpeet Kaur to divorce him who committed suicide by hanging herself in her parent’s house
IO said a case under section 306 (abetting suicide) of the IPC was registered against the accused and his father and mother.
