Three unidentified booked for snatching Rs. 10,000, smartphone

 

NAKODAR

The Nakodar Sadar police have booked three unidentified miscreants on the charge of snatching Rs.10,000 cash and a smartphone from a Kapurthala village.

Gaurav Sharma a resident of Kahlwan village in Kapurthala complained to the police that the accused waylaid him at Mehmud Pur Chowk Edda village on December 25 and threatened him and snatched Rs 10.000 and a smartphone from him.

The investigating officer and Uggi police post in charge Sukhwindar Pal Singh said that a case under sections 379-B (snatching) and 34 (committing a crime with common intention) of the Indian Penal Code has been registered against the unidentified accused and further investigations are on.

 

Increasing incidents of snatching and thefts have created a sense of insecurity among residents and put a question mark on police functioning.
