The Lohian Khas police have booked two brothers on the charges of breach of trust and cheating.
The investigating officer (IO) Govindar Singh said that the accused have been identified as Balvir Singh son of Karnal Singh a resident of Ucha Boharr Wala village in Kapurthala and his brother Mittar Singh.
Mukhtar Singh a resident of Nasire Wal village complained to the Jalandhar (rural) superintendent of police that the accused signed an agreement with him to sell their 15 marlas plot situated in Lohian Khas and received an amount of Rs 15 lakhs from him as advance money but did not register a sale deed and cheated him.
IO said a case under section 406(breach of trust) and 420(cheating) of the Indian Penal Code has been registered against the accused after an inquiry. No arrest has been made and further investigation is on.
