Travel agent booked for duping Lohian Khas village resident of Rs 12.40 lakhs

The Lohian Khas police have booked a travel agent for allegedly duping a Lohian Khas village resident of Rs 12.40 lakhs on the pretext of sending his son abroad.

The station house officer (SHO) Surjit Singh Padda said that the accused has been identified as Kulwant Singh son of Jogindar Singh a resident of Mundi Shehariyan  village.

 

SHO said Jogindar Singh a resident of Mandala Chhana village complained to Jalandhar (rural) senior superintendent of police (SSP) that he had paid Rs 12.40 lakhs to the accused for facilitating his son’s migration abroad. However, the accused neither sent him abroad nor returned the money.

SHO said a case under sections 406 (breach of trust), and 420 (cheating) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and section 13 of the Punjab Travel Professional Regulation Act has been against the accused after an inquiry and further investigation in being conducted by Deputy Superintendent of Police (NDPS) Jalandhar(rural) Jaswindar Singh.

 

The Nakodar Sadar police booked a travel agent Pardeep Singh son of Prem Chand a resident of Bajuha Khurd village for duping Tahli village resident Sital Ram of Rs 99,500 on the charge of sending his son abroad, said IO Sanjivan Singh
