The Mehat Pur police have booked a villager on the charge of brewing illicit country-made liquor.
The investigating officer Sarwann Singh said that the accused has been identified as Surindar Singh alias Manna a resident of Khurla Pur village.25 kilograms lahann(raw liquor) ,7 bottles of hooch, and utensils for brewing were recovered from his possession. A case under section 61/1/14 of the excise act has been registered against the accused that managed to flee from the spot.
