NAKODAR/JALANDHAR
The Jalandhar (rural) police on Thursday destroyed drugs seized under NDPS Act by various police stations.
The Jalandhar (rural) senior superintendent of police (SSP) Swarandeep Singh said in a press release that the drugs seized in 297 cases were destroyed in a fire on the premises of Green Energy Private Limited Bir Pind village under Nakodar Sadar police station.
He said that destroyed drugs included 6048 kilograms and 300 grams of poppy husk,2 kilograms and 761 grams of intoxicant powder,4 kilograms and 988 grams of heroin,50 grams of ICE, 13 kilograms and 650 grams of Charas,23 kilograms and 720 grams of Ganja,3085 injections,9600 intoxicant tablets, 6985 intoxicant capsules,174 intoxicant vials,15 syringes, and 8 needles.
The press note said that the drug disposal committee of Jalandhar rural chairman and SSP Swarandeep Singh, SP(D) Sarabjit Singh Bahia, and DSP(D) Jalandhar (rural) Jastindar Singh DSP (PIB, NDPS) Jalandhar(rural) were present on the occasion.
