The Lohian Khas police have arrested two villagers on the charge of snatching cash and a mobile from a street hawker.
The investigating officer (IO) Iqbal Singh said that the accused have been identified as Karansp Singh alias Nona son of Paramjit Singh and Karanjit Singh alias Karan son of Nachhtar Singh residents of Jalal Pur village.
Sandip Singh a resident of Pipply village complained to the police that he was going to sell household goods in his car when the accused riding a motorcycle waylaid and snatched Rs 2200 and a mobile phone at a point of pistol like weapon and fled away but he chased the accused who fell due to potholed road and farmers working in nearby fields overpowered and handed them over to the police.
IO said that a case under section 379-B(snatching) 341(wrongful restraint) 427 (mischief) and 34 (committing the crime with common intention) of IPC has been registered against the accused and recovered from them snatched items and a dummy pistol and impounded a motorcycle used in committing a crime.
