The Punjab Police on Saturday paid rich tributes to martyr sr./constable Mandeep Singh No. 1390/ Jalandhar (rural) at his Antim Ardaas and Bhog at Singh Sabha Gurdwara, village Kotli Gajran Kotli Gajran near here.
The martyr cop hailed from this village and was posted as a gunman with a Nakodar cloth merchant Bhupinder Singh alias Timmy (threatened person). In a brave act, he got martyred on 07.12.2022.
Kartar Pur MLA Balkar Singh, officers and officials of the Punjab Police including Addl. Director General of Police,( Law and Order), Punjab, Arpit Shukla, IG Zonal Jalandhar G.S.Sandhu, Senior Superintendent of Police Swarandeep Singh, and others remained present during the event and paid their tribute to the martyr.
While speaking on occasion, Arpit Shukla highlighted the bravery and valour of the martyr sr./constable Mandeep Singh advised the youth to choose this martyr as their role model.
Shukla said the Punjab Government had announced Rs one crore to the martyr’s family which was disbursed adding that under the welfare policy of Punjab Police personnel, Director General Police Punjab Chandigarh and HDFC Bank today gave another cheque of Rs 1 crore to the martyr’s family today.
Arpit Shukla said that due to his supreme sacrifice, the name of Mandeep Singh has been recommended for Presidential Gallantry Award (posthumously).
