Punjab Chief minister warns educational institutions of strict action if students are not allowed to speak Punjabi

Faridkot
Punjab chief minister Bhagwant Singh Mann has warned private educational institutions of strict action if they were ever found fining the students for speaking Punjabi at school.
The chief minister was addressing the gathering at Punjabi university Patiala during the inter university youth festival.

"I have learnt that some educational institutions discourage the students from speaking Punjabi at their premises. If anybody is found speaking Punjabi, the mother language of the people of the state, he is fined for that. But we shall not tolerate it. A strict action would be taken against such educational institutions. Even we shall cancel their affiliation," Mann said.
