Two travel agents booked for duping Nurmahal village resident of Rs10.02 lakhs

 

NURMAHAL

The Nurmahal police have booked two travel agents for allegedly duping a Nurmahal village resident of Rs 10.02lakhs on the pretext of sending his nephew abroad.

The investigating officer (IO) Daljit Singh said that the accused have been identified as Sukhjindar Singh Dhanjal a resident of near AS public school, Tower -E, Jalandhar, and Sanjiv Kumar’s son of Banarsi Dass a resident of Tower Enclave, Phase -01, Jalandhar.

 

IO said Gurmit Singh a resident of Gorsian Nihal village complained to Jalandhar (rural) senior superintendent of police (SSP) that he had paid Rs 10.02 lakhs to the accused for facilitating his nephew’s migration abroad. However, they neither sent him abroad nor returned the money.

IO said a case under Sections 406 (breach of trust), and 420 (cheating) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) has been registered against the accused.

 

The Nakodar city police booked a woman travel agent Gurpreet Kaur MD Future Consultant, SCF 7, Top Floor, Phase -1, SAS Nagar for duping Nakodar resident Hardev Singh a resident of Guru Teg Bahadar Nagar of Rs 8.54 Lakhs on the charges of sending his son abroad
