NEW DELHI: Amidst the ongoing political riots regarding the assembly elections in Gujarat, the Aam Aadmi Party alleged that the BJP has resorted to hooliganism in the elections. AAP claims that BJP people have kidnapped a candidate of their party.
"BJP has kidnapped AAP candidate Kanchan Jariwala," Manish Sisodia said on Wednesday.
"Our candidate from Surat (East), Kanchan Jariwala, and his family missing since yesterday. First, BJP tried to get his nomination rejected. But his nomination was accepted. Later, he was being pressurised to withdraw his nomination. Has he been kidnapped?" tweeted Arvind Kejriwal.
Aam Aadmi Party leader Raghav Chadha said in a press conference, “Murder of democracy! Our candidate Kanchan Jariwala from Surat East seat has been kidnapped by BJP. First BJP unsuccessfully tried to get his nomination papers rejected, then coerced him to withdraw his candidature and now kidnapped him. He is missing since last afternoon”.
AAP Chief Ministerial candidate Ishudan Gadhvi tweeted, “BJP is so scared of you that it has resorted to hooliganism. BJP people were following our Kanchan Jariwala contesting from Surat East for a few days and today she is missing. It is believed that BJP goons have taken them away. His family is also missing. How far will BJP fall?
However, Kanchan Jariwal had filed nomination papers on November 14. AAP claims that on November 15, BJP tried to get her nomination rejected. AAP leaders have told that Kanchan Jariwal's family was receiving constant threats. Kanchan and her family are missing since last night.

At the same time, a senior AAP leader and Rajya Sabha MP shared a video on Twitter and wrote, "Elections are being held in Gujarat or democracy is being strangled openly. Surat East's candidate Kanchan Jariwala is missing since yesterday. The people present in the video belong to the BJP. By taking action on these, the candidate can be traced. BJP has accepted defeat before the elections. Now she is kidnapping the candidate."
