MRS-PTU, Bathinda’s Inter Zonal Youth Fest inaugurated at Aryans

Mohali: 7th Inter-Zonal youth fest of Maharaja Ranjit Singh Punjab Technical University, Bathinda inaugurated at Aryans Group of Colleges, Rajpura on this year's theme “Lehraunda Punjab”. Thousands of students of around 20 Colleges from various districts participated in cultural activities of the Youth Festival. Dr. Buta Singh Sidhu, Vice Chancellor, MRSPTU, Bathinda was the Chief Guest while Sh. Rajeev Arora, Director, All India Radio; Dr. Gurinder Pal Singh Brar, Registrar, MRSPTU, Bathinda;  Dr. Bhupinder Pal Singh Dhot, Director, Sports & Youth Welfare, MRSPTU, Bathinda was Guest of Honour. Dr. Anshu Kataria, Chairman, Aryans Group presided over the function.

Dr. Buta Singh praised the efforts made by Aryans in organizing the youth fest & also congratulated all the students of participating Colleges in the youth fest. He said that Aryans has achieved many milestones in the last 15 years in the field of academics as well as in cultural activities.

He further said that Aryans Group of Colleges is the pride of the region & since the last 15 years the group is really working hard under the leadership of Dr. Kataria.  He added that youth should be involved more in co-curricular activities so that they can be involved in the mainstream of the society and can help in bringing revolutionary change in the society.

Dr.  Anshu Kataria while speaking on the occasion thanked MRS-PTU for allotting Youth fest to Aryans. He said youth festivals play a major role in grooming the youth and in the cultural development of the country. He said youth festivals aim to propagate the concept of national integration, spirit of communal harmony, brotherhood, courage and adventure amongst the youth by exhibiting their cultural prowess at a common platform.

Dr. Bhupinder Pal Singh Dhot informed that since 2015 MRSPTU has organized 6 Inter-zonal fest in a row & this year in 7th fest, around 600 students are going to perform in more than 38 events under 5 different categories. The competitions would be very tough & specific observers have been appointed too. He conveyed his best wishes to all participants & added that such activities help in preserving our rich heritage and composite culture.

First Day of youth festival observed various Cultural and Non Cultural activities including Giddha, International Folk Dance, Classical Dance, Group Shabad, Bhajan, Group Song Indian, Vaar Singing, Western Vocal Solo, Western Group Song, Creative writing, Quiz, Clay Modeling, Collage Making, Cartooning, On the spot Painting etc.
