NEW DELHI: The International Cricket Council has declared Virat Kohli the 'Player of the Month' for the month of October. Kohli has been in tremendous from in the ongoing T20 World Cup with 246 runs in 5 matches which includes three half-centuries.
At the same time, Nida Dar, who performed brilliantly for Pakistan in the Women's Asia Cup, has been given the 'Player of the Month' award.
Both Kohli and Dar were chosen as winners after a global vote among media representatives, ICC Hall of Famers, former international players and fans registered on icc-cricket.com.
He won this title by defeating South African batsman David Miller and Zimbabwe's Sikandar Raza.
Kohli was named Player of the Month after completing 205 runs with the bat. Along with scoring a brilliant half-century against the Netherlands in Sydney, he batted tremendously against Pakistan in Melbourne and Pakistan had to face defeat.
India had four wickets for 31 runs at one point, but Kohli dominated the Pakistan bowlers and scored an unbeaten 82 off 53 balls.
On the other hand, Nida Dar has scored 145 runs in 6 matches and has taken 8 wickets. On winning the title, he said that being nominated for the award was great and winning it is special for me.
