JALANDHAR: Under the aegis of Disha- an initiative run by Bowry Memorial Educational and Medical Trust, the students of Innocent Hearts were made aware of various issues of eyes on the occasion of 'World Sight Day'.
The head of Innocent Hearts Eye Centre,alumnus Dr. Rohan Bowry( M.B.B.S, M.S.( Eye), F.P.R.S. -Phaco Refractive Surgeon) shared tips for the well-being of eyes. The session was based on the theme" Love Your Eyes" in which he emphasised the students to take care of their eyes. He shared important facts and explained common eye problems. The expert Ophthalmologist, Dr. Rohan Bowry, told the children that they must wear sunglasses so that they can protect their eyes from UV rays because there is a thin layer on the sunglasses which protects our eyes from UV rays.
Nowadays children spend more time in the digital world, as a result of which the blue rays emitted from the mobile or computer screen harm the eyes. The Children should take proper sleep so that they can stay refreshed all the time and do other things happily.
He told that 'Prevention is Better than Cure' so take care of your eyes before it's too late. Take proper rest as it is very important for the protection of
eyes from redness and infections. He said that people suffering from diabetes and high blood pressure must get their eyes checked every year to avoid loss of vision. He concluded with the thought that nutritious food plays an important role to keep the eyes healthy. Develop a habit to add green leafy vegetables in the routine.
