Amritsar: The `Gurpurab’ of Sri Guru Ram Das Ji, the fourth Guru of the Sikhs’ and founder of Amritsar was celebrated amidst religious fervor at Khalsa College campus by Khalsa College Governing Council (KCGC) today. The students of Khalsa College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (KCVAS) performed Kirtan, following the Bhog of Sri Akhand Path and divinity teacher shed light on the life and philosophy of revered Guru.
The students recited the Gurbani and Shabad in praise of Guru Ram Das ji who founded Amritsar which was originally known as Chak Ramdaspur. KCGC honourary secretary Rajinder Mohan Singh Chhina congratulated one and all on this occasion and asked Sangat to follow the righteous path shown by the Guru.
Sikh scholar Dr. Inderjit Singh Gagoani spoke about the life history and teachings of the Guru. Chhina and Principal, KCA, Dr. Mehal Singh jointly bestowed Siropas (robe of honour) on the students performing Kirtan recitals.
KCGC joint secretaries Ajmer Singh Heir, SS Mannan, Paramjit Singh Bal and Member Lakhwinder Singh Dhillon, Gurpreet Singh Gill, Sarabjit Singh Hosihar Nagar, Principal Dr. Harpreet Kaur, Principal Dr. Surinder Kaur, Principal Dr. Harish Kumar Verma, Principal Dr. Jaspal Singh, Principal Dr. SPK Dhillon, Principal Dr. Kawaljit Singh, Principal Dr. RK Dhawan, Principal Dr. Kamaljit Kaur, Principal Nanak Singh, Principal AS Gill, Principal Puneet Kaur Nagpal, Principal Gurdev Singh, KCET Director Dr. Manju Bala, Principal Nirmaljit Kaur, Principal Gurinderjit Kamboj heads of other departments, teachers, staff and students were present in large numbers.
