LUCKNOW: Condoling the death of Samajwadi Party founder Mulayam Singh Yadav, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has announced a three-day state mourning in the state.
Chief Minister Yogi tweeted, "Uttar Pradesh government announces three days of state mourning on the death of Mulayam Singh Yadav. His last rites will be performed with full state honours."
Yogi Adityanath said that in this hour of mourning, he expressed his condolences by talking to his son Akhilesh Yadav over the phone.
He said in a statement that the death of Mulayam Singh Yadav marks the end of an era of leaders who believed in struggle and socialist ideology.
UP Speaker Satish Mahana has also expressed grief at the death of the veteran leader.
