New Delhi: On the Enforcement Directorate's latest raids in connection with the alleged scam related to Delhi's Excise Policy, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Friday said that hundreds of raids have been conducted by central agencies to find evidence against Manish Sisodia, but nothing has been found in his hands as his Deputy Chief Minister Has done nothing wrong.
According to the report of news agency, the ED on Friday raided 35 locations in Delhi, Punjab and Hyderabad in connection with alleged irregularities and illegal money transactions in this case related to the abolished excise policy of Delhi.
Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia is one of the accused in the FIR lodged by the CBI, which is probing the alleged irregularities in implementing the Delhi government's Excise Policy 2021-22.
In a tweet, Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal said that over 500 raids have been carried out in three months, "yet nothing has been found". “500 raids… more than 300 officials have been working 24*7 for three months. They all are trying to find proof against one Manish Sisodia,” he tweeted in Hindi, referring to his deputy. “Nothing has been found, because there is no proof... because nothing was done," he stressed.
The ED is investigating this case only on the basis of the CBI's FIR. He has conducted 103 raids in this case so far. Delhi's Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena had recommended a CBI inquiry into the Excise Policy 2021-22.
He has also suspended 11 officials of the Excise Department in this case. The ED has so far questioned Aam Aadmi Party MLA Durgesh Pathak and Tihar Jail minister Satyendar Jain in this case.
