Bathinda: Institution of Engineers Bathinda Centre celebrated 55th Engineers Day with great enthusiasm at Institution of Engineers Local Centre Bathinda.

It is worthwhile to mention here that 55th Engineers' Day is being celebrated all over the country to commemorate the birthday of Sir Mokshagundam Vishveshwaraya. The theme of this years' Engineers Day is "Smart Engineering for a Better World". To celebrate this 161st birth anniversary of Visveswarya (Bharat Ratna) large number of Engineers attended the ceremony. On this occasion, Engineer Vijay Kant Goyal General Manager National Fertilizer Limited Bathinda joined as the chief guest. In this program Dr. R. K. Bansal Director Punjab Institute of Technology, Nandgarh and Engineer Punardeep Singh Brar Chief Engineer Western Zone PSPCL were present as guest of honour.

On this occasion, Bathinda Local Centre Chairman Dr. Jagtar Singh Sivian welcomed all the guests, participants, engineers and students and throws light on the biography of great engineer Sir Mokshagundam Vishveshwaraya. On this occasion Engineers paid rich tributes to the great Engineer. On this occasion, Dr. Jagtar Singh Sivian and Honorary Secretary of Bathinda Centre Engineer J.S. Deol and Maharaja Ranjit Singh Punjab Technical University, Bathinda, Dean, Planning and Development of Dr. Savina Bansal was also present.

For this special program Dr. Manpreet Kaur Assistant Professor Yadvindra Department of Engineering Talwandi Sabo gave a special lecture on the topic "Smart Engineering for a Better World" and shed light on the importance of engineering in daily life. Dr. Amandeep Kaur Sarao Assistant Professor Yadvindra Department of Engineering Talwandi Sabo anchored the programme very well. Engineer J.S. Deol Honorary Secretary Local Centre Bathinda concluded the program by presented the vote of thanks.
