SC stays on sedition law, allows centre to reconsider provision in IPC Section 124A, says- new case not to be registered

NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court on Wednesday, May 11, stayed the invocation of the sedition charge until the provisions of the law under Section-124 of the Indian Penal Code are examined. "We expect that till re-examination of this law is complete it will not be used," the CJI NV Ramana-led Bench of the SC said.
