Vikramjit Singh Chaudhary takes oath as an MLA, says a proud moment for him

CHANDIGARH: Former Punjab Youth Congress president and newly elected MLA from the Phillaur assembly constituency Vikramjit Singh Chaudhary took oath of office in Punjab Vidhan Sabha here on Thursday.

Protem Speaker Inderbir Singh Nijjar administered the oath to the newly elected legislator Vikramjit, who had come to the assembly along with his family members including his father and Jalandhar Member of Parliament Santokh Singh Chaudhary.

Speaking to reporters, Vikramjit Chaudhary said that taking the oath as a member of Vidhan Sabha was a proud moment for him.

"The people of Phillaur have given me a wonderful opportunity to continue the golden legacy of my grandfather Master Gurbanta Singh ji, who served as a Member of this august house several times from 1945 to 1977. Later, my father Santokh Singh Chaudhary ji, uncle Jagjit Singh ji and cousin Chaudhary Surinder ji too raised the voice of people of Punjab in the Vidhan Sabha. Now, God has blessed me with an opportunity to be the voice of people of Phillaur in Vidhan Sabha and continue the legacy of my family," he said.
